Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso match at Wrestlemania 40?

WWE has not been shy of the fact of a Jimmy Uso vs. Jey Uso match at Wrestlemania 40. With the bloodline being one of the top storylines in WWE, an Uso vs. Uso matchup would continue the ongoing feud between the family members. The twin brothers’ feud over the past few months has indicated a heated brother vs. brother match on the grandest stage of them all.

WWE has been hinting at this match since Jey Uso’s match at Summerslam 2023 against WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

In the main event of this showcase, Jey hoped to finally dethrone the longest reigning Universal Champion Roman Reigns, and become the next tribal chief. After an Uso Splash and an almost three count, Jey was dragged out of the ring by his brother, Jimmy, ultimately costing him the match and the championship. Jey would later quit Smackdown to be then hired by the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes on Monday Night Raw.

At the 2024 Royal Rumble, the two brothers started off the match as entrants one and two to begin the showdown. With a powerful staredown, WWE seemed like they were hinting at this match during the biggest Wrestlemania to date.

For several weeks, Jimmy Uso has been making appearances during Jey’s matches on Monday Night Raw.

During the Intercontinental Championship match on the February 19th edition of Raw, Intercontinental Champion Gunther defended his title against Jey in hopes of extending his record of longest reigning Intercontinental Champion. The two put on a fast-paced match, with Jey coming close several times to end Gunther’s reign. As Jey pinned Gunther following the Uso Splash, the bell rang before the end of the three-count. It was later revealed to be Jimmy who rang the bell. The distraction from Jimmy caused Jey to get rolled up by Gunther, continuing his historic reign as champion.

Jimmy later got involved in Jey’s match against Drew McIntyre during the March 4th edition of Monday Night Raw. The main event featured Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre as McIntyre has unfinished business with the “Main Event” superstar. As Jey was about to hit his finisher on the Scottish Warrior following an appearance by his younger brother, Solo Sikoa, Jimmy emerged from the crowd, costing him the match once again. These instances over the past couple of weeks have led people to believe that this match is bound to happen at Wrestlemania.

Only two other times brothers faced off against one another in Wrestlemania history, both being 15 years apart. The first match was Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart at Wrestlemania X, followed by Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy at Wrestlemania 25. If the Uso’s competed at Wrestlemania 40, they would be the third brother vs. brother match in history, continuing the pattern of brother vs brother matches.

Whether it’s yeet or no yeet, WWE has been planting the seed since Jey’s exit from Smackdown to Raw. This has been a match in the making and it seems it won’t be long before WWE makes it official.
