Jason Kelce Wants To Remain With Eagles After Retirement

Jason Kelce says that he wants to remain with the Philadelphia Eagles after retirement.

Although the former Eagles center is not officially retired, he said that he wants to remain with the organization – either as a coach or behind the scenes in the front office.

I don’t know what’s going to happen for me,” Kelce said, according to Olivia Reiner of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “But I do know I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it, regardless of what the decision is. “Because I don’t want to ever feel like I’m on the outside looking in on these achievements and these accolades and these opportunities that largely represent entire cities and fan bases and organizations. It’s too good a feeling to pass up.”

The Philadelphia Eagles were knocked out of the playoffs this year by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wildcard, 9-32. Kelce, 36, is one of the best centers in the sport. He played the 2023 NFL season on a one-year deal and is currently a free agent, and while nothing is official, all signs are currently pointing out that Kelce will be retiring soon.

Incredibly disappointing season, especially at the end of it,” Kelce said. “And I really, really look forward to next year. I look forward to trying to prove people wrong, especially with some of the recent hires and Nick Sirianni. And there’s a lot of things up in the air for the Philadelphia Eagles. But I think that, as a player, you always look forward to go into battle with your guys.”

While Kelce and the Eagles are not in the playoff, he will be able to watch his brother, Travis Kelce, as the Kansas City Chiefs will play against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58 on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev.
