2023 Fantasy Football Breakout Candidates: Week 15

By now, most–if not all–of you in your league’s fantasy football playoffs! Desperate times come for desperate measures! You have to knock every fantasy football decision out of the park–or hope your opponent does the exact opposite–to advance to the next round! Well you’ve come to the right place, where each week, we go over at least three fantasy football breakout candidates who could … you know … break out!

Let’s dive into three Week 15 candidates!

Stefon Diggs, WR, Bills

If there’s any team that’s desperate for a playoff spot across the NFL, it’s the 7-6 Buffalo Bills, who enters Sunday as the No. 9 seed in the AFC. They’re at home against a Cowboys secondary that’s No. 9 in the NFL in success rate per dropback allowed, but has dropped to No. 18 over the last five weeks. After a strong start, Diggs has cooled off; he’s had more than four catches and 35 receiving yards just once over the last four weeks, which came against a porous Eagles secondary in Week 12, when he had six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. I don’t think that

D’Andre Swift, RB, Eagles

At Vendetta, there are plenty of Swift truthers, including our very own don, Trey Daubert. Though it’s been a disappointing recent output for the Eagles running back. After a 14-carry, 60-yard performance in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills, Swift’s tallied just 17 carries for 52 yards each of the last two weeks. That’s in-part due to the game script and opponent, but his production and workload were fairly consistent (outside of Week 1) up to that point. I expect the Eagles–with Jalen Hurts fighting an illness–to rely on Swift against a Seahawks defense that ranks dead last in rushing EPA/play and No. 31 in rushing success rate allowed the last five weeks.

Tucker Kraft, TE, Packers

Kraft looked good Monday night against the Giants, finishing with four catches for 64 yards. But he still finished as the 16th-best tight end in standard formats and just outside the top-10 in PPR formats last week. I think his output continues growing like it has each of the last three weeks against a Buccanneers back-seven–which has been friendly to us and bad for them–in Week 15.

Who do you think breaks out in Week 15? Let us know in the comments!
