Does anybody feel sorry for Dalvin Cook? It’s not a secret by now that Cook is miserable and he’s playing like trash. I just want to circle back and remind people that Cook signed up to be miserable. He let his greed get the best of him and it’s done nothing but haunt him.
This should have been so easy. The Dolphins were staring him in the face. Cook is from Miami and played his college ball at Florida State. It’s also a no-state tax location where Cook would have kept all his earnings.
I can pretty much guarantee that Cook would have performed way better in Miami than he is right now. Cook, 28, is averaging 3.3 yards per carry behind that terrible offense and joke of an offensive line. Miami’s offensive line isn’t any better but Mike McDaniel is the run game guru for a reason. Raheem Mostert is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and leads the league with 14 touchdowns. That could have been Cook.
He passed on Miami. For what? A few extra dollars to be miserable with the Jets? Dumb. As dumb as dumb gets. The only thing he’s done is probably cost himself future dollars because he had to be greedy in the present moment.
An All-Time dummy move that shouldn’t be forgotten. Just remember kids, not everything is about the money. Sometimes you’re better off taking less while putting yourself in the best position to succeed. The karma gods don’t like greed and they have treated Dalvin accordingly. It is what it is.
