Tyrese Haliburton has been slept on for a while but he’s now taken his game to a new level. I know people were high on him coming out of the 2020 NBA Draft out of Iowa State, but did anybody think he would be THIS good? Like 25 points per game with 12 assists good? If they did, you would think he would have gone much higher than pick 12.
Well, maybe Haliburton wouldn’t be this good if he didn’t play 2K. The former Iowa State product says he got better at basketball by playing 2K.
“Honestly, a lot of my hoop knowledge in knowing how to play comes from video games,” the 23-year-old said. “When you’re playing 2K and you’re on that camera angle where you can see everything ahead of you, that’s how I think sometimes.”
Haliburton, 23, already got his money after signing a massive extension with Indiana this Summer. The Pacers guard is averaging 24.7 points, 12.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds through 10 games this year.
Anytime you think about Haliburton, it’s hard not to think about that infamous trade with the Kings. It’s hard to argue that either team won considering that Indiana got this horse. Plus, the Kings made the playoffs for the first time in forever with Sabonis. A true win-win.
Let’s hear from you in the comments section. Do you really think the 2K cheese really helped Haliburton become a better player?
