Will the UFC host the first combat sports event in the Las Vegas Sphere?

The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nev., has blown away fans and quickly become one of the best entertainment venues in the world. As of recently, UFC CEO Dana White has become obsessed with “The Sphere” and wants to bring a UFC event to the venue.

White recently discussed his ambitions on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“Over the last few weeks I have become obsessed with the Sphere; the Sphere here in Las Vegas,” White said. “I went and saw the U2 concert and I’m blown away by this venue. I want to do Mexican Independence Day next September. I actually have my entire production staff and team going to the U2 concert this weekend to walk the place. I want to be the one to do the first live transmission out of Sphere. I’m telling you right now, this place is incredible, I will put on the greatest live combat sports event anybody has ever seen.”

White has a pretty realistic expectation for doing a show at the Las Vegas Sphere. This is not something that he can just throw together on a whim. The UFC cannot treat the sphere like your average arena either, and it appears it’s aware of that.

A show on Mexican Independence Day would push the UFC’s event to Sept. 2024. That gives the UFC nearly a year to prepare for an event at the unique venue; however, what is more important is the atmosphere.

It hosted its first Mexican Independence Day event, Noche UFC, this year and the results were outstanding. The fans filled the arena with unreal energy and made the event special.

This type of deal will never get done without the proper business connections. The Sphere and Madison Square Garden are owned by the same company, which is great news for the UFC because they have a great working relationship and consistently host events in Madison Square Garden.

If the UFC brings the 2024 Mexican Independence Day card to the Las Vegas Sphere, fans will be in for a treat. The arena and environment will be outstanding. Plus, the fight card could be filled with Yair Rodriguez, Alexa Grasso, Brandon Moreno and other entertaining Mexican athletes.
