Steve Smith HATES Jerry Jeudy

The Denver Broncos suck. Not that anyone with a brain is surprised. I called Sean Payton a moron for taking that job and I meant every word I said. Denver is 1-5 to start the 2023-24 NFL Season and the tear down feels inevitable at this point. Jerry Jeudy could be the next to depart the team. Just know that whoever trades for Jeudy, Steve Smith will not approve.

It’s pretty safe to say that Smith HATES Jeudy. Check out what he had to say prior to the game last night.

“I wanted to say to him, face-to-face, like, ‘Hey, I know I said some things in the past. I probably shouldn’t have. And I’m sorry.’ That’s what I wanted to say to him,” Smith Sr. said. His response? … ‘I don’t mess with you.’ … So I’ll say it again. I’m sorry that I said you were a JAG — just a guy — who’s an average wide receiver they used the first round pick on that isn’t doing anything.

“I hope today that you actually show up in a way that you haven’t showed up in the last couple of years since they draft you,” he continued. “So if you ever got a problem with Agent 89, I’m sorry for saying that you’re an average wide receiver that they eventually will move on from. And when teams call me and ask me should they trade for you? I will say no, don’t trade for Jerry Jeudy. Because he’s mentally unable to handle constructive criticism from people … He’s a tier three”

Harsh!

Randy Gregory already left for San Francisco. It’s only a matter of time before Frank Clark finds a new home. I’d be surprised if Jeudy isn’t moved prior to the trade deadline.

Jeudy, 24, was a former first round pick out of Alabama but certainly hasn’t played like it. He’s always been a good route runner but he’s had drop issues and problems staying on the field. He’s also a smaller receiver that hasn’t quite looked the same at the NFL level. I don’t think all of the problems are on Jeudy but it’s certainly fair to say he hasn’t lived up to his potential thus far.

His best season came last year when he notched 972 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 15 games. I think Jeudy can certainly play and a fresh start elsewhere may be in the best interest of both parties.
