When you think of a classic New York City food staple, you think of pizza.
Pizza joints run the city. No matter what borough you visit, there will always be a classic pizza joint on each street. It’s the perfect quick and easy way to fill your stomach while either visiting or simply commuting within the city.
Slices are cheap, hot and tasty, making them the easiest answer to your hunger problems. When heading to NYC, it’s crucial that you check out their pizza joints as each one has perfected the classic crust with the perfect amount of cheese. There’s no place that disappoints.
Although all pizza throughout the city is great, there is one place that takes the title of New York’s most iconic slice. Located in downtown Manhattan, N.Y., on Prince Street, Prince Street Pizza sells the largest, juiciest, savory slice of pizza. Of course, this iconic joint is on the map for the most important pizza place to check out when visiting the city.
On busy days you’ll likely find a hefty long line–make sure to plan your trip to this joint ahead in order to avoid waiting an hour!
There are copious amounts of cheese, the sauce is tangy and salty and the crust is the perfect thick bed for all of the deliciousness on top. The biggest treat of the slice is the perfectly golden crusted pepperoni pockets on each slice. These pepperonis add another huge layer of saltiness and oiliness; each pepperoni holds a pocket of oil so good that you could drink it.
This slice deserves the title of New York’s most iconic slice. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
