Did Mike Francesa Prove He’s Clueless Following Jets Rant?

Mike Francesa, one of the biggest sports media members in New York, has always made a name for himself for being very vocal about all of the local teams. However, he went on a rant about the New York Jets being on Hard Knocks that proved he has no idea what he’s talking about, going as far as to say it will be a “colossal mistake”.

“If the Jets are thinking about [‘Hard Knocks’] in this season, with what they are hoping to accomplish, with what they are going to deal with in terms of attention, this is already, to me, a colossal mistake by ownership, general manager, head coach, whoever had input into this,” a fired-up Francesa said, according to Erich Richter of the New York Post.

“If you have decided to open your training camp and your development time this year to ‘Hard Knocks,’ they are complete fools,” Francesa said. “That is the worst thing they can do right now.”

“I can’t believe they could even be considering this,” he said of the Jets front office. “It is as bad of a decision as they could possibly make, and it scares me going forward that they will continue to make mistakes. Because ya know what? I don’t know yet whether the Jets or especially the coaching staff is ready for what it means to have Aaron Rodgers in the building. This would already be a step that tells me that they don’t.”

The issue here is that the New York Jets have said publically that they do not want to be a part of Hard Knocks in 2023, citing they don’t want to deal with all the cameras as they get ready to open training camp on July 20th. Apparently, Mike Francesa missed the memo.

“I know there are several teams that would love for ‘Hard Knocks’ to be in their building. We’re just not one of them,” Jets head coach Robert Saleh said in June.

How out of touch can you be? The former WFAN radio host, you’d expect, would be in the know on all things going on around the New York area. Yet, Mike Francesa apparently doesn’t care about any of that and just wants to say his thoughts without looking into it. WFAN is probably better off with having Francesa off their stations.
