Elon Musk ruins Twitter during Free Agency

In one of the most important times of the year for sports fans, Elon Musk announces temporary read limits for Twitter. In the midst of the NBA and NHL free agency, Musk announced three new rules for verified, unverified, and new unverified accounts.

Musk said that verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts per day while unverified accounts are 1/10 of that. Unverified accounts will be permitted to read 600 posts per day. To end off, the new unverified account will only be able to view 300 posts per day. All this chaos comes from Musk’s idea to “to address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.”

Limiting the number of posts a Twitter user can see in a day is painful. Seeing alerts come up on who is being signed and where is essential, and not being able to access that news is hurting news networks. Especially during free agency, the biggest time of the year for sports.

Jackson Law, a writer and video creator here at Vendetta, made a great example of how important it is for Twitter users to see everything.

In his video on the Vendetta YouTube channel, he showed an example of how it can be almost dangerous for people. What if a national weather service sent out an emergency warning on Twitter, and the user already exceeded their post limit? They wouldn’t be able to see it. It also goes back to the sports side of it.

What if Adrian Wojnarowski or Shams Charania, two of the biggest NBA insiders, tweeted out a breaking news segment? We wouldn’t be able to see it if we were a non-verified account.

Elon Musk needs to change this … immediately.
