Gaming legend Tfue announces retirement

One of the most popular video game players is retiring at the age of 25. Tfue, whose real name is Turner Tenney, one of the most popular streamers in the world, is stepping away from video games, he announced in a Youtube video.

The skilled gamer has amassed a huge fan base over his career playing titles such as Call of Duty, Destiny, and Fortnite Battle Royale.

Tfue started streaming on Twitch in 2014 and began to garner fans due to his skill and personality. He started to gain attention in November of 2015 when he was streaming Destiny, a first-person shooter and part role-playing game that was developed by Bungie, who developed the Halo franchise.

However, Tfue broke into the upper echelon of streamers when he started streaming Fortnite. In February 2018, he began his journey on Fortnite. It was slow at first but over time Tfue started to climb the ranks as a top Fortnite player.

One of his first defining moments was when he killed Ninja on stream, who was the biggest Fortnite player in the world at the time. The clip of Tfue killing Ninja, which has been shared countless amount of times on the internet, is an iconic video in the gaming world. Eventually, Fortnite became the biggest video game in popular culture and Tfue’s popularity grew with it.

He won the Fortnite Fall Skirmish, and for years, became known as one of the best if not the best Fortnite players on the planet.

Tfue’s Legacy

He has been a staple of the gaming and video game streaming community. Tfue has 11.4 million followers on Twitch with 310 million views to date, according to TwitchTracker.com. He has seen even more success on his YouTube channel. He was a streamer extremely dedicated to his craft streaming for over 13 thousand hours. Tfue’s streams usually would last for 6-8 hours and this would be a daily occurrence.

However, it appears he wants to retire from gaming and streaming altogether. Tfue did not close the door on returning to video games, but it seems he wants to take a break. He is 25-years-old and he wants to enjoy life. Tfue has received a lot of fame, money and fans over his gaming career, and is one of the best gamers and streamers to ever pick up a controller.
