Carolina Panthers Set To Sign Julius Peppers

Julius Peppers started his NFL career as the 2nd overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. The Carolina Panthers would not regret their decision to draft him as Peppers will go down as one of the greatest sack artists ever. After spending the last 3 seasons in Green Bay, Peppers is coming home to Carolina. His agent Carl Carey tweeted the news that was later confirmed by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.

Peppers, 37, plans to play one more season in the NFL. Coming back to Carolina makes a ton of sense after he spent his first 9 seasons with the Panthers. He also played his collegiate days at the University of North Carolina as well.

He will likely serve as a rotational defensive end with Mario Addison and Kony Ealy as starters. The Panthers also brought back Charles Johnson so they will have a ton of pass rushing depth. In 2016, Peppers recorded 7.5 sacks for the Packers over the course of 11 starts and 16 total appearances.
