The New England Patriots have signed former Ravens defensive lineman Lawrence Guy to a 4-year deal worth $20 million. NFL Network Reporter Ian Rapoport first reported the story.
Guy, 26, also had interest from the Dolphins and Redskins. The Ravens were also trying to keep him as well. New England continues to improve their defensive line. He joins recently signed Alan Branch, Malcom Brown, and Vincent Valentine in the middle of the defense. New England has also beefed up their pass rushing unit with Kony Ealy.
After re-signing Brandon Williams, the Ravens did not have the cap space to keep him. In 2016, Guy recorded 28 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. His 2015 season was better when he finished with 4.5 sacks. He did not miss a start in either of those years. Lawrence Guy was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 7th round out of Arizona State in 2011.
