2025 NFL Draft Stock Report: Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl

The 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report series rolls on with the Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl. Let me just get this out of the way now. Think of this post as more of a quick hitter post. We’re not going to get carried away on this one. I had a ton of focus on the Michigan/Alabama game, South Carolina/Illinois, and LSU/Baylor game. I saw bits and pieces of this one but not the full thing. I prioritized this one last in terms of the Bowl games that were on and am not going to pretend otherwise and just make stuff up. We only do authenticity here at VSM.

We’re going to spend a good amount of time talking about both running backs (because I’m fond of both) and we’ll sprinkle around that.

Louisville

I guess LSU isn’t the only one who has a talented Lacy. This Caullin Lacy made some plays out there. Making big yardage in the return game. Going over the middle and scoring touchdowns. Like the other Lacy, it doesn’t look like his hands are anywhere near perfect either. Three catches for 17 yards and a score. Wasn’t anything crazy but looks like he has some movement skills. Can he be another Dez Fitzpatrick?

I guess this was a sympathy game for Harrison Bailey? A senior who really hasn’t done anything during his entire career. No Tyler Shough so I guess this was his sendoff? Game was a shoot out, which has been the case for their games all year.

I just really love this Isaac Brown. Just wrapped up his true freshman season. Wasn’t super highly recruited but damn he has serious potential. Imagine if he gets three notches better. Finished the game with 18 carries for 99 yards. 5-foot-9, 190, and has some juice to him. I’d imagine he gets a little bigger and stronger rounding out into a complete back in the coming years. He’s a name to really watch and won’t even be draft eligible until 2027.

Washington

I like this Jonah Coleman. Looks tough to tackle. Comfortable running inside the tackles taking on contact. He’s a quality back who is a real actual running back. Not one of these nickel backs. Only had nine carries for for 42 yards but a lot of that had to do with playing catch up after the pick 6. Panicked and became one-dimensional.

5-foot-9, 229, and not sure if he’s coming back or not. Just wrapped up his junior season. Unproven in the passing game but definitely can be a quality power back for someone likely in a committee at the next level.

I would imagine this Demond Williams is the QB for Washington next year. Just finishing up his freshman year. Checks in at 5-foot-11, 187. Got fooled bad on the first possession of the game resulting in a pick 6. Otherwise hung in there during the shoot out game. Brought his team back with four touchdowns and 374 passing yards but he looks like a small Air raid guy who is fun in college but not a real NFL player.

This right here is fun. Not sure how it works at the NFL level but it makes for a good time during a Bowl game that doesn’t mean anything.

The real story of the game with this Giles Jackson. Guy caught everything and did everything for this Washington offense. Reeled in four touchdowns on 11 receptions compiling 161 receiving yards. Certainly went out with a bang. He’s an older guy who started his career in 2019. Wasn’t exactly on my radar but that was something. Credit to him I guess. Not sure it changes anything but how do I not mention it?

Oh, and Johntay Cook transferred in so maybe he will be the one doing these sort of things in 2025.
