The 2025 NFL Draft may have ended, but the content machine doesn’t mean it’s concluded. We still have a few things coming, including a huge wave of databases where you can find all the information that you need. We already put one together for the stock report notes, NFL Scouting Combine, Grades, position rankings, and War Room series. How about we sprinkle some more rankings for you and put together a list to tier these position groups? Does that sound like a plan for everyone?
Feel free to comment if you disagree!
12: Center
Jared Wilson was really the only guy, if you’re excluding Grey Zabel. There were a few late round guys, but that’s really about it. Not sure anyone disagrees here.
11: Wide Receiver
I’ve said this multiple times, and I’ll say it again. Last year, we had an awesome receiver draft and a terrible running back draft. This year, we have the inverse. Tetairoa McMillan is really the only top tier guy, and the others were probably overdrafted. Not a ton of interesting fliers worth taking either outside of two or three. Really down year at the position.
10: Quarterback
I don’t think it was nearly as bad as the media depicts it to be, but it obviously wasn’t ideal. Cam Ward is at the top and is very much a real player. Then we really have a bunch of interesting later round guys who have a genuine chance to turn into something. I don’t think it’s nearly as disastrous as other people claim that it is.
9: Guard
Just a really limited group. You have a few guys at the top of the class like Booker, Jackson, and Savaiinaea. Beyond that group, it falls off a cliff and you’re throwing darts.
8: Tight End
I’m sure other people think tight end should be higher, but I’m not with those people. Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren just aren’t rock solid first round guys to me. Honestly, I think it’s the depth that really should be outlined. Guys like Fannin, Taylor, Arroyo, and Ferguson is what gives this class some strength.
7: Linebacker
Solid group with depth throughout. You had your Jalon Walker and Jihaad Campbell at the top. Then guys like Smael Mondon who are super intriguing players to take in the middle rounds. Even a guy like Jackson Woodard went undrafted. Solid group.
6: Tackle
We had real tackle prospects in this draft. Kelvin Banks is at the top for me. Sure, once you get out of the second round, it’s thin, but definitely real contributors who will help teams.
5: Cornerback
Really nice group here. Unicorn Travis Hunter at the top. Will Johnson went way too low in the second round. Have a guy like Shavon Revel go in round 3. I loved the deep round guys. Leaving this draft with two or even three corners wasn’t a bad idea.
4: Safety
I actually thought it was a great safety draft. Mostly because Malaki Starks is a top 5 guy in the class for me. But then you also add in a Watts, Emmanwori, Bowman, the Penn State guys, etc. If you missed out on a safety, that’s a you problem.
3: Edge Rusher
Really nice class and stacked with depth throughout. Guys like Abdul Carter and Mykel Williams at the top. Steals in the second round like Donovan Ezeiruaku and JT Tuimoloau. Any team could have had Jack Sawyer for dirt cheap. The list goes on and on. Solid class.
2: Defensive Tackle
In the same vein as the edge rusher class. Just think it has an incredible amount of depth here. When you’re scooping up a guy like Ty Robinson on day three of the draft, you know it’s a damn good class. Five of these guys went in the first round. What more is there to say?
1: Running Back
Stupid loaded. I think I had about 30 draftable guys at the position. It was so loaded that some guys had to beg for UDFA jobs and more than deserved to be picked in any other year. Of course, that just makes it more ridiculous that a guy like Jeanty goes that high, but whatever.
