Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and I hope you all had a very blessed holiday without any uncomfortable conversations with your family and friends! Do you want to know what isn’t an uncomfortable conversation? Fantasy football … well, maybe it is if your team stinks. To avoid that, however, let’s dive into three fantasy football breakout candidates for Week 13 of the 2024 NFL Season!
Bigsby suffered an ankle injury in Week 10, and missed Week 11 before his bye last week. He logged full practices this week and is slated to be back in Jacksonville’s running back room in Week 13 against the Houston Texans. Bigsby had seven carries for 90 yards in Week 4 against Houston, and his workload continued to increase before his injury. It’s difficult to project how he will split the carries with Travis Etienne this week, but I think he has the chance to get back to where he was pre-injury–which was an efficient, explosive runner behind a below-average offensive line.
Fathertime is undefeated, and Samuel, 28, simply hasn’t looked as explosive as he once was. He will also be playing in snowy Buffalo Sunday night, so I think this could be a favorable spot for him to get back on track potentially. He’s only averaged eight touches in each of his last four games. Though I think there’s potential that he will be more involved in the running game–even with Christian McCaffrey back in the fold.
After a hot start for Taylor, finishing as an RB1 in each of his first four games, he’s only placed inside the top-25 in just two of his last five weeks. It hasn’t been the most efficient last four games for him, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry with zero touchdowns. I think he gets a favorable matchup heading into his bye in Week 13 against the Patriots. New England’s allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs in standard formats, including the 8th-most yards and 11th-most yards per carry. It’s difficult hitching yourself to a team quarterbacked by Anthony Richardson, but I think the Colts will be able to move the ball against this unit Sunday, putting Taylor in favorable scoring situations.
