It’s Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask for the Bucs in 2023. Take that for whatever you see fit. Long story short; Jason Licht has his work cut out for him. No regrets about the past, they got a ring out of it. As we gear toward the 2023 NFL Draft, what should the Tampa Bay Buccaneers do? It’s time to head inside the War Room!

- Round Three, Pick 19, 82nd Overall
- Round Five, Pick 19, 153rd Overall
- Round Five, Pick 41, 175th Overall*
- Round Six, Pick 2, 179th Overall~
- Round Six, Pick 4, 181st Overall^
- Round Six, Pick 19, 196th Overall
- Round Seven, Pick 35, 252nd Overall*
This simulation went a bit differently than expected. It looks like the simulator added the option to trade certain players. We took advantage adding two players from other teams. The real thing that needs to be talked about is the fact that Tampa is stuck in the middle. Baker Mayfield and/or Kyle Trask isn’t getting this team back to championship contention. The simulator is lucky this feature wasn’t in effect when I did the Ravens or Lamar Jackson would have been sent packing.
The larger point here is the Bucs should really consider punting on this draft and sending picks to 2024 so that you make sure you get your real quarterback next year. We took advantage of that opportunity in this simulation.
There are still needs on this roster. Most notably the offensive line has taken major steps back. Donovan Smith, Shaq Mason, Alex Cappa, and Ali Marpet are gone. With the picks the Bucs decide to use, it would be wise to sure that unit up again.
