We are mere days from Thanksgiving football! We’re not there yet, however, so let’s not get too ahead of ourselves! Each week, we go over at least three fantasy football breakout candidates who could … you know, break out … in the upcoming week! Before we dive into which three players could break out this week, let’s see how we did in Week 10!
Not great, not terrible. Let’s build off it in Week 11! Here are our three fantasy football breakout candidates below!
While he hasn’t officially been ruled active yet (Sunday night game), Alexander Mattison is still expected to play after suffering a concussion, which suggests that the snap share is going to be more favorable towards Chandler. Chandler’s success rate (39.1) has been similar to Mattison’s (41.5) while averaging more yards from scrimmage (4.6 to 4.1) this season. Minnesota will be on the road against Denver, who has the third-worst EPA/rush allowed. While the Vikings have not found much success in the running game this year, I expect more success with Chandler in the backfield in Week 11.
Green Bay’s offense has been incredibly disappointing this season, but they will be up against a porous Chargers secondary. The Chargers have also allowed an average north of 21 points to opposing fantasy quarterbacks this season, including 23.0 points to quarterbacks playing at home. Love has been more consistent since his Week 6 bye, but has still been a below-average quarterback all season. In deeper formats, he’s a low QB1 candidate with breakout upside in a desperation spot in Lambeau.
The Texans’ passing offense is humming with C.J. Stroud behind center, so it’s worth dipping your toe into any of their pass-catching targets. This week, we’re going with Robert Woods. He missed two games with a foot injury and had just a 60 percent snap share last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Noah Brown will officially be inactive this week, opening up potential targets for Woods, though he will still be competing with Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz and Tank Dell. Nevertheless, against a Cardinals back seven that ranks No. 29 (of 32) in EPA/dropback allowed, I see Woods’s production similar to where it was the first five weeks of the season, when he averaged 4.2 receptions for 44.2 yards.
