Defensive end Andre Branch will be returning to the Miami Dolphins. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport first reported the news that Branch will remain in Miami for the foreseeable future.
In 2016 Branch played in all 16 games recording 49 tackles and 5.5 sacks for the Dolphins this past season. Branch originally was a 2nd round pick of the Jaguars in 2012 but has been much better since joining the Dolphins this past year. The former Clemson product is a steady presence on the other side of Cameron Wake.
The Dolphins made a number of cap cuts to be in position for this move. Prior to the move, the Dolphins had $38 million in cap space according to Spotrac.com.
*The official contract details have been released on the new agreement. The contract is for 3 years for a total of $27 million.
