WWE Monday Night RAW Preview (02/27/2023): Road to WrestleMania continues!
This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW is hot on the road to WrestleMania! It seems like we are going to get some more direction in this year’s WrestleMania storylines. There is also a title match with a WWE Hall of Famer making her return to the ring! Let’s take a look at tonight’s card for WWE Monday Night RAW.
Candice LeRae vs. Piper Niven
This matchup should be a fun one, as it has two women who seem to be on the cusp of becoming big parts of the women’s division in WWE moving forward. I am expecting Piper Niven to pick up the victory here but I would not be surprised if LeRae finds a way to walk away as the winner. This could be seen as a great way to establish the women’s division post WrestleMania.
Asuka vs. Carmella
These two women are set to go head-to-head tonight on RAW. Asuka and Carmella were the last two women remaining in this year’s WWE Elimination Chamber match. Asuka eventually picked up the victory and earned herself a match at WrestleMania against WWE RAW Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair. Carmella seems to be looking for some revenge, but there is no way Asuka picks up a loss going into her title match. Expect Asuka to pick up the win here and look good doing so.
Brock Lesnar answers Omos’ WrestleMania challenge
Last week, MVP challenged Brock Lesnar to a WrestleMania match on behalf of Omos. The Nigerian Giant has not been involved in much creatively following his loss to Braun Strowman last year at WWE Crown Jewel. A matchup against Lesnar would by far be his biggest challenge yet and one could argue he may not be ready for it. Nonetheless, Lesnar is expected to give an answer tonight and to be honest, he could go either way.
Miz TV special “WrestleMania Edition”
The Miz is set to host a segment of Miz TV tonight on RAW. He stated he is going to reveal some “huge news” involving this year’s WrestleMania. Who knows exactly where this segment is going to go, but do not be surprised to see Rick Boogz make an appearance. The Miz is one of WWE’s most underrated talents and has been among the most consistent performers of the past decade. It would be a shock to see him left off the WrestleMania card this year.
An interesting idea, would be for LA Knight to make an appearance, setting up a WrestleMania match between the two. LA Knight hasn’t been given a proper direction since his feud with Bray Wyatt. There were plenty of rumors that Knight really impressed WWE creative during that package. It would be a surprise to see him left off the WrestleMania card. LA Knight and The Miz could put together some of the most electric microphone battles we have seen in a long time. Sounds like a big money matchup to me.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Becky Lynch & Lita vs. Damage CTRL (c)
Last week on WWE Monday Night RAW, this match was set up. Lita made her second appearance in a matter of weeks, this time to declare herself as Becky Lynch’s partner in this matchup. Dakota Kai and IYO SKY have held the titles for good bit now, but there has been very little direction involving them. Even though Becky Lynch and Lita are not a proper tag team, they are two of the most decorated and respected women in wrestling history. This should do good things for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships regardless of the outcome. Let’s just hope this is the beginning of a new era for the championships, and not just another example of using them as a prop.
