Why Derek Carr Will Be A Top 10 Fantasy QB In 2021

Derek Carr has yet to have a top 10 fantasy campaign after eight seasons with the Raiders but this year, Carr is going to break out and finally crack the top 10 fantasy QBs.

One factor that helps Carr is that he will now have a capable supporting cast around him. There is no doubt that Darren Waller was great in 2020 and is going to have another elite season, but the Raiders also bolstered their WR room, adding John Brown and Willie Snead IV to a room that already features Henry Ruggs III. While these receivers are serviceable, they are not exactly at the top of the league (though Ruggs is an exciting prospect), illustrating why the Raiders have Darren Waller and all-pro RB Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs has been anything but consistent for the Raiders lately, making some wonder if he was even the right selection for the Raiders in the first place, but the Raiders worked to improve their rushing attack this offseason, signing Kenyan Drake from the Cardinals. Sure, this hurts the fantasy value of Josh Jacobs (not that his value was high following a lackluster 2020 anyway), but it makes the Raiders rushing attack better and should take some of the workload off of Carr, allowing him to perform better.

Conclusively, Raiders fans are severely divided over Derek Carr and his career with the Raiders. This year, Derek Carr has a more powerful rushing attack and a new WR room, along with an absolute stud in Darren Waller. For the first time in his career, Derek Carr will break the top 10 for fantasy QBs and may just win some fantasy leagues for managers along the way.
