When Will Lamar Jackson Realize Mommy Can’t Be His Agent Any Longer

Lamar Jackson is trying to break the quarterback market. He’s not just trying to break the quarterback market and top the Deshaun Watson deal. He’s trying to do it with mommy trying to be his agent. We know Lamar isn’t the brightest guy in the world. He got a negative 50 on the Wonderlic. It’s still a question that needs to be asked anyway. When will Lamar realize mommy can’t be his agent any longer?

This isn’t a linebacker contract. Roquan Smith had an advisor help him out with his deal and you notice how fast it got done? We’re talking about a potential massive quarterback contract with massive amounts of guaranteed money attached.

When is the last time NFL teams publically declared they are out on a former MVP quarterback? It’s never happened. The only reason it is happening is because he doesn’t have an agent to protect him. Teams would never think about doing this if Lamar was repped by a big time agent with other clients. They just wouldn’t.

The Browns don’t dictate the market in the NFL. Never have and never will. Lamar needs a reality check or these contract talks are going to keep getting uglier. The only chance he has to get the contract he wants is by having someone who understands the business better than he does.

I don’t begrudge Lamar for trying to get his money. Who am I to say he can’t do that? However, I think it’s totally fair to call him an idiot for trying to do it himself. If this were me and my objective was to make the most money possible, I would have given Scott Boras a call. Forget about Boras for a second, the fact that Lamar hasn’t even sought outside help tells you everything you need to know. He’s just not bright.

Not saying there is anything wrong with being a mommy’s boy but Lamar Jackson is heading down a dangerous path. He’s running out of suitors and nobody wants to deal with his nonsense. It’s time to hire an agent and put the big boy pants on. Mommy will be okay afterward, I promise.
