So, I pretty much hate football, I hate being wrong, and most importantly I hate when SIX games I picked wrong were decided by one possession, 3 of them by less than 3 points. With that being said, I went 7-7 last week. It’s not bad, it’s just not good especially considering what could have been. Anyway, let’s get it on with Week 7 of Chick’s Picks!

Chiefs @ Broncos

The Denver Broncos (2-4) are hosting the Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) in the Week 7 Thursday Night Football game. This game actually means a lot to me as a Raiders fan. I’m eyeing this out carefully, given that the Raiders actually have a winning record, imagine that. The Denver Broncos are starting to get into a groove, especially the defense. That’s what the Broncos need to do to win essentially. If the defense is on, they can stay in the game with anyone. They don’t need Joe Flacco to be Peyton Manning, they just need him to manage the offense.

Unfortunately, for the Broncos, they play the Kansas City Chiefs. After dropping two straight games, and almost a third against the Lions. The Chiefs look really vulnerable right now. They have been dealing with injuries, but I hate using that excuse, no one cares about injuries, just W’s. There’s talk that Patrick Mahomes isn’t as good as people first though. Not only is that false, but it’s just idiotic, Mahomes is one of the most talented QBs in the game today. He has a couple of bad games and he’s not good anymore? Yeah okay. The Chief’s defense is the problem, they couldn’t stop a high school team from scoring right now. With the tandem of Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, they’re gonna open up the pass game for Flacco. This is where Cortland Sutton and Emmanuel Sanders will become relevant. This game will be a lot closer than people think, but Patrick Mahomes will bounce back and win this game.

Final Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs 27, Denver Broncos 21

49ers @ Redskins

The San Francisco 49ers (5-0) are being hosted by the Washington Redksins (1-5). The 49ers are looking damn good, especially that STOUT defense. The defense handles the game and that relieves a lot of pressure on the 49ers offense, especially since there’s a lack of talent on that side. Other Jimmy Garoppolo and George Kittle, most of that offense could be much improved. Kyle Shanahan has been more creative with the offense to compensate for that. The Redskins won their first and probably last game of the season last week against the Dolphins. This game will be no contest, expect the 49ers to dominate.

Final Prediction: San Francisco 49ers 27, Washington Redskins 16

Cardinals @ Giants

The Arizona Cardinals (2-3-1) are traveling to New York to take on the Giants (2-4). ZzZzZzZzZzZz… This is Chick’s snoozefest of the week. The Arizona Cardinals won last week, I wouldn’t say it is surprising given how bad the Falcons defense and Dan Quinn actually is. Both teams put up 30 points, meaning the Cardinals defense isn’t anything to brag about either. The Giants are coming off an expected loss losing to the Patriots. The score doesn’t give it justice, but the Giants played well for one half, and then well lost badly the next half. Saquon Barkley is back this week and I’m sure that Daniel Jones is more than happy about that. He’s the Barry Sanders of our generation after all. With a few more days to prepare than the Cardinals and all the weapons they’re getting back this week, I think the Giants take this one.

Final Prediction: New York Giants 28, Arizona Cardinals 24

Texans @ Colts

The Indianapolis Colts (3-2) are hosting the Houston Texans (4-2) in this Week 7 divisional matchup. The Colts are being slept on currently. Yes, one of their losses came from at the hands of the Raiders, however, they were dealing with injuries. Plus their wins are much more impressive, including to be the first team that took down the Chiefs. Jacoby Brissett is proving he’s more than capable of handling the Colts offense despite the lack of weapons outside of T.Y. Hilton, Marlon Mack, and their TEs. Their defense puts fear into anyone, especially if it can hold the Chiefs offense to only 13 points. Coming off a bye, you’d think I would have them winning against the Texans this week especially at home. But Deshaun Watson is an elite QB, if you doubted that before Sunday, you don’t now, he’s special. DeAndre Hopkins didn’t even have a good game but the offense is now showing up around him and the Texans offense continues to be one of those teams that is just unstoppable. I’m riding with the Texans and their momentum to win this game.

Final Prediction: Houston Texans 28, Indianapolis Colts 24

Vikings @ Lions

The Minnesota Vikings (4-2) are being hosted by the Detroit Lions (2-2-1) in this Week 7 divisional matchup. The Detroit Lions got robbed last week, there’s no other way around it. Two crucial 3rd downs, two bad calls on the Lions. Both led the Packers to points to ultimately win the game. The Lions had their chances though, they had what, 4 FGs? Field Goals don’t win games y’all, it just won’t do it. The offense will look better against the Vikings, but not by much. The Vikings look like they’re starting to click after routing the Eagles last week. There haven’t been any complaints about Kirk Cousins, he’s distributing the ball nicely and everyone is happy. As long as he does that, this offense will have no problem and score on anyone. Let’s be honest though, this has a lot to do with leading rusher contender in Dalvin Cook. The guy is just too good and has easily put himself in the top 5 RB in the league conversation if he wasn’t already. Even with all that, the Vikings are going to SQUEAK by the Lions this week.

Final Prediction: Minnesota Vikings 24, Detroit Lions 23

Jaguars @ Bengals

The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4) are traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals (0-6). The Cincinnati Bengals are not as bad as their record shows. They’re still bad, but I wouldn’t say they’re one of the 5 worst teams in the league. If you look at the score of each of their games, they’ve lost 4 games by one possession, 3 of those by 4 points or less. Surprisingly enough, Andy Dalton hasn’t been playing bad, decent even. If there’s any blame for the Bengals losses, it’s the defense. If they could fix that, they’d put themselves in more winning situations and maybe get a couple of W’s under their belt. Two weeks, two losses. I can’t praise my main man Garnder Minshew. He hasn’t been playing bad, he just hasn’t been playing well enough to get the wins. Although, he is looking like to be the Jaguars franchise QB for the foreseeable future. If Leonard Fournette continues to play well, it exponentially increases the Jaguar’s chances of winning games. The defense is still good even with trading away their best player in Jalen Ramsey. I expect the Jaguars and #MinshewMania to handle the Bengals.

Final Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars 27, Cincinnati Bengals 20

Dolphins @ Bills

The Buffalo Bills (4-1) are taking out the trash with the Miami Dolphins (0-5) in this Week 7 divisional matchup. Oh, Dolphins, how do you have a bye week to prepare for the 2nd worst team in the NFL and STILL lose. Josh Rosen isn’t good and has been benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick (Fitzmagic). Although the Dolphins almost pulled off the comeback in the TANK bowl, they didn’t. That was their only chance to win and they blew it. The Bills are going to win. I could go into analysis, but the Bills defense will smother the Dolphins offense, the offense will do enough to put about 20 points up at least and the game will be over. Done deal.

Final Prediction: Buffalo Bills 28, Miami Dolphins 6

Rams @ Falcons

The Los Angeles Rams (3-3) are being hosted by the Atlanta Falcons (1-5). This game was going to be an intriguing matchup, but since the Rams traded for Jalen Ramsey, that’s not likely the case anymore. It’ll be fun to watch Julio Jones and Jalen Ramsey 1v1 the whole game, but the Falcons defense is so bad to make this more interesting. The other Falcons WRs should get some decent fantasy points though. The Rams trio of WRs will have a field day, and Jared Goff will quiet the people that say he’s terrible (aka me). The Rams definitely need it right now, they’re looking vulnerable. As mentioned, Goff is probably hearing a lot of well-deserved noise that he isn’t good. Sean McVay can’t carry him forever. Goff’s extension was a mistake and it is starting to look like it. However, they’ll get their confidence back up with this easy win over the Falcons.

Final Prediction: Los Angeles Rams 31, Atlanta Falcons 20

Raiders @ Packers

The Oakland Raiders (3-2) are traveling to Green Bay to take on the Packers (5-1). The Oakland Raiders are coming off the bye this week, and they needed every minute of preparation they could get to face off against the Packers in Green Bay. The Raiders will likely be without their WR1 in Tyrell Williams, so look to keep their gameplan to hand the ball off to Josh Jacobs and throw to freshly resigned Darren Waller, best TE you never heard of. If the Packers shut that down, this game won’t be close. The only thing that is working for the Raiders is the lack of WR talent the Packers have. That helps the Raiders porous secondary tremendously, however, Aaron Rodgers doesn’t care who he is throwing to, as long as they’re there when he throws it. He’s just too damn good, too good for the Raiders to win this week, sigh.

Final Prediction: Green Bay Packers 27, Oakland Raiders 20

Chargers @ Titans

The Tennessee Titans (2-4) are hosting the Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) in this AFC matchup. This game is also going to be on my snoozefest list, we’ll call this one a nap. The Los Angeles Chargers look bad….for no reason. I can’t tell you why they’re not winning games. WR talent, check, Good RB tandem, check, star QB check, decent TE, check, good defense, check. What’s the problem then? I don’t know. Speaking of problems, the Titans have a dilemma of their own, they benched Marcus Mariota, just concluding that he wasn’t going to be safe this year. Ryan Tannehill is at the helm now, and just because I don’t know what is wrong with the Chargers, I’m gonna roll with the Titans this week, expect Derrick Henry to get plenty of touches.

Final Prediction: Tennessee Titans 23, Los Angeles Chargers 17

Ravens @ Seahawks

The Baltimore Ravens (4-2) are being hosted by the Seattle Seahawks (5-1). The Baltimore Ravens aren’t as good as their record shows. Their wins? They won against the Dolphins, the Cardinals, the Steelers, and the Bengals, hardly an impressive resume. Lamar Jackson is nowhere close to being the best dual-threat QB we’ve seen. The Ravens are frauds, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the league starts to see it too. At the start of the year, I said I wasn’t a big believer in the Seahawks, I’m still kind of not. But there’s one thing for sure, Russell Wilson is one of the best QBs in the NFL, and the Seahawks will somehow win. They can bang with anyone and will not just die quietly. This game will be a little easier for them, if they contain Lamar Jackson from running, this game will be over easily.

Final Prediction: Seattle Seahawks 26, Baltimore Ravens 17

Saints @ Bears

The New Orleans Saints are traveling to Chicago to take on the Bears in this Week 7 NFC matchup. Sigh, I wanted to pick the Saints last week, but Vendetta’s own, Dan Louis, insisted I don’t because the Saints win when I don’t pick them. That is the case this week. I like them in this game, but just for Dan, I will pick the Bears to win. The Bears have the best defense in the NFL and Teddy Bridgewater is going to struggle and he will leaning on Alvin Kamara to carry him, but the Saints defense is also decent and probably contain the Bears offense. Especially if Mitch Trubisky plays, the guy is terrible. Let’s just say I want the Bears to win this week, let the best defense win.

Final Prediction: Chicago Bears 17, New Orleans Saints 13

Eagles @ Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys (3-3) are hosting the Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) in Week 7 Sunday Night Football matchup and in my opinion, the game of the week. With this being a divisional matchup, a crucial one at that, plus just an ugly rivalry, is there anyone not ready to watch this game. Twitter is going to be shitshow from the toxicity in this game. (Follow me @BALLBUSTERSVSM) The Eagles front 7 is damn close to being impenetrable. This will cause Ezekiel Elliott to struggle, forcing Dak Prescott to throw. I still think he’s not good, but luckily the Eagles secondary is terrible. Dak Prescott, despite being limited, could have a good day. Carson Wentz needs help on the offensive end. The lack of talent on the Eagles offense is becoming more evident in every game. I don’t care how good Carson Wentz is, he’s not going to win all that often if he can’t get some help. I never like counting Wentz out though. If the Eagles secondary shows up, I think they’ll squeak by the Cowboys in this SNF thriller.

Final Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles 28, Dallas Cowboys 27

Patriots @ Jets

The New England Patriots (6-0) are being hosted by the New York Jets (1-4) in the Week 7 Monday Night Football divisional matchup. I really wanted to pick the Jets here, I decided against it. Sam Darnold is the real deal. After the Jets were getting thrashed around with him being out with mono, he came back and instantly made them better to beat the Cowboys last week. Make no mistake, their team is not good. Other than Le’Veon Bell and Sam Darnold this team leaves much to be desired. The New England Patriots are not as impeccable as their record is. A couple of games they looked bad, more specifically Tom Brady. Bill Belichick usually saves him by his masterful coaching, but the days for Brady are winding down, the tape is showing it. The Patriots defense has been stout this year and winning their games for them as it did in the Super Bowl. With the lack of talent on the Jets, expect the Patriots to win this won, but it will be closer than you think.

Final Prediction: New England 24, New York Jets 21

Teams on Bye

The Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4) are on bye this week. I would like to apologize to Garrett Burroughs, one of Vendetta’s own, about calling the Steelers defense terrible, he questioned me about it and I told him I don’t think they’re good, about on par with the Raiders. But they played great, stopped the Chargers and made them look silly. The future is bright in their defense, but maybe not at QB. Hopefully, Mason Rudolph can get healthy next week for the Dolphins, which should be an easy win.

The Cleveland Browns (2-4) are on bye in week 7 and boy do they need it. The Browns were the clear favorite to win the AFC North, and still can, but right now, they’re having an identity crisis. Baker Mayfield doesn’t know how to shut up. They don’t know who they are. They’ve had chances to win games and just couldn’t pull the trigger. They need this bye week. Team activities and bonding, so they can get themselves straight, would do them some good. Then again, it might not, they play the Patriots next week and well, with how they’re playing, I don’t have much hope for them.

The Carolina Panthers (4-2) are on bye this week. After a slow start, and an injury to Cam Newton, I was ready to write off the Panthers. Boy was I wrong. Not saying Kyle Allen is a really good QB but he was playing better than Cam Newton and is a nice compliment to MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey. The Panthers have a tough decision to make when Cam comes back, but an easy one for me, Allen is winning, why take him out? We’ll keep a close eye on how they handle that. Next week will be difficult for them as they will play the 49ers, but I am excited to watch that game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) are on bye in week 7. They’re performing just about as good as I thought they would. They had a surprising win over the Rams and been pretty quiet ever since. Jameis Winston is just not it, he’s a bust, the Buccaneers needs to start planning for that now. They have a legit chance to win next week though against the Titans.
