Watch: Insight Into What A Bully Remake Could Look Like

Bully was a Rockstar Games title that was originally released on PlayStation 2 in 2006. This game was remastered and re-released on Xbox 360 in 2008 and on the PlayStation 4 in 2016. Bully is a third-person action-adventure game that is set in an open-world setting in the fictional town of Bullworth.

Gamers play as protagonist James “Jimmy” Hopkins, who is a troublesome student that is enrolled in Bullworth Academy. People can play as “Jimmy” as they try to navigate the crazy environment that is the school while trying to become one of the most popular students, so “Jimmy” can put an end to bullying in the school. Gamers interact with multiple school groups like nerds, preppies, and jocks as “Jimmy” completes different side missions to be the one that ends the plague of bullying.

This fantastic Rockstar game had a successful release and fans have always wondered when a second Bully game would come out, but Rockstar Games has been distracted by their bigger franchises, like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. However, this has not stopped fans from creating their own Bully content. Recently, one fan made a concept trailer for a Bully remake using the new Unreal Engine 5 technology.

The trailer looks amazing, and it gives new life to “Jimmy” and Bullworth Academy. The graphics look great as “Jimmy” is seen walking and skating around the school hallways, meeting areas, and classrooms. The fan-made trailer is not perfect, as the facial animations of the characters are not great. But, it is still an awesome demonstration of what a new Bully game could look like. The trailer did its job by making fans even more enthusiastic about another possible Bully game.

A New Bully Title In Today’s World

The first Bully game was released in 2006, and I think another title would be as good if not better in 2022. Bullying is still an issue kids face in schools all around the world, and a game centered around ending bullying would be a welcomed sight.

Also, Rockstar Games with today’s next-generation consoles would be able to create an incredible story with realistic students and settings. They would have a lot more issues to explore, as school is entirely different nowadays due to technology and changing societal norms. Ultimately, Bully was a fun, unique title released by Rockstar Games and, if they were to release a remake, it would certainly be an amazing gaming experience.
