Look, this isn’t me being a hater. This is just me being realistic. To be fair, if the Titans kept AJ Brown and still kept Treylon Burks, I like this a lot better. But, that’s just not the case. However, it’s not all bad, the Titans do have Robert Woods. But, how well do we really think Treylon Burks can do as far as fantasy goes? That remains to be the question for the Titans this year.
There are a couple of things that we have to consider here. 1. Derrick Henry was out half of the year and is arguably the best RB in the NFL. He only played 8 games and was 9th in rushing with 937 yards. If he plays at least, what, 3 more games last season, he would have been at least 2nd in the league for rushing. Nick Chubb was 2nd with 1,259 yards. The Titans have proved that if they can run the ball, they will. They want to put the ball in the hands of their best player Derrick Henry if they can.
Then, you have to take into account that the team had AJ Brown and Julio Jones. Granted, Julio Jones was washed this last year. But I do think it was a better WR room than what they have right now. They were better, but they have Ryan Tannehill as a QB, so how hopeful can Williams fantasy owners be? Also, the Titans picked up Robert Woods, which could be the WR1 for the Titans rather than Burks.
I would be deathly afraid to draft Treylon Burks in fantasy for 2022. I think he might be the boom or bust option for the 2022 fantasy rookie WRs. He might actually do well this year. Not as good as Garrett Wilson or Jameson Williams, fantasy-wise. But he might still end up being a top 5 guy for rookie WR in fantasy, or he might be on the lower end of that spectrum. It’ll be interesting to see but I’m not taking him unless it’s a flier, and as a 1st round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, that’s just not going to happen.
