TJ Watt: George Pickens Doesn’t Understand How Good He Is
George Pickens hasn’t scratched the surface of what he will become. The Steelers 2022 second round pick finished second on the club with 801 receiving yards while catching a team-high four touchdowns. Teammate TJ Watt says expect way more. Watt had super high praise for Pickens.
“George Pickens is one of those guys that’s like, I don’t know if he understands how good he is,” Watt said. “It’s like holy cow — some of the things you see in practice. But it’s also on top of that, it’s the little things. Like finishing plays, running — he can run for days.
The talent is obvious. If you can’t see it, you’re brain dead. Pickens was a top 50 recruit in the 2019 cycle and was Vendetta’s number one ranked receiver prior to the 2022 NFL Draft. 6-foot-4, 4.47, 40 time. When the light bulb really clicks in 2023, the Steelers will have something really special on their hands.
Pittsburgh has been unbelievable at drafting wide receiver talent under Mike Tomlin. The list feels endless. Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace, Santonio Holmes, Diontae Johnson, Antwaan Randle El, JuJu Smith-Schuster, etc. Pickens has a chance to be the best of that bunch.
When TJ Watt speaks, you listen. His voice should never fall on deaf ears. He’s also talking about someone that makes plays like this…
Yeah… the guy’s awesome. Of course, you should have already known that to be the case.
