Ted Lasso & AFC Richmond Added As Playable Characters In FIFA 23
Okay, now I’m excited. When I put out my FIFA 23 wishlist, I didn’t even come up with this one. FIFA really outdid themselves this time. Take a bow because I am impressed. Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond have been added to the next iteration of the game as playable characters. Fire up the eggplant emojis because I am excited! Hashtag Jazz hands.
VIA EA Sports (don’t be shy to click that link. Some really cool pictures included here):
“That means Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, and the biggest stars of the AFC Richmond squad including Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, and Isaac McAdoo will all be authentically integrated into FIFA 23, along with Nelson Road–the club’s home ground.”
“One of the game’s great motivators, you’ll be able to select Ted Lasso as your playable manager in Career Mode, or you can manage AFC Richmond by swapping them into the Premier League or any other playable Career Mode league.”
“AFC Richmond will be playable across Career Mode, Kick-Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons, including The Greyhounds’ Nelson Road home stadium.”
“And in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team™, you’ll be able to show your love for AFC Richmond with a series of customisation items including authentic kits and TIFOs, as well as being able to find and select Ted Lasso or Coach Beard as your club’s manager. All AFC Richmond content in FUT will be available through objectives and challenges.”
Amazing. I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty tapped out from the Arsenal FIFA 22 series. I’ve recorded all of the episodes. They will be out soon. If you want to catch up with that series, here is the YouTube playlist.
This news? Oh, yeah… It’s all but secured the fact that I will be buying FIFA 23. In fact, I may do two series but will start with the AFC Richmond series. We’re going to build them into a powerhouse.
Final note real quick. If you haven’t seen Ted Lasso, shame on you. Go watch it. It’s one of those shows that you HAVE to see.
Okay, I lied. You really have to go watch it because Roy Kent may be secretly running this company. Can’t confirm. Can’t deny.
