2020 Record: 4-7 (3-7)
2021 Projected Win Total (via MGM): 6
On The Field
2020 was a rollercoaster of emotions for Mississippi State and Mike Leach. They went to Baton Rouge and upset the defending National Champions by two scores. Then the Bulldogs lost to two inferior opponents including Arkansas at home. Their season turned after the Vanderbilt win, they played Georgia and Ole Miss losing to both teams by one score.
The Bulldogs beat Louisiana Tech in a home thriller and then beat the North Carolina State Wolfpack to start year two under Leach. Then, they got screwed by the refs in a Week 3 loss to Memphis which killed any momentum they had going into their tough SEC schedule.
In The Market
The SimMississippi State Bulldogs are just inside the top 20 in terms of share value in the SimBull CFB market, and their share price of $44.42 puts them 5th in the SEC. The loss to Memphis hurt investors big time, that should have been one of the easiest wins on their schedule and they blew it.
Now, they are going to need to upset at least one other SEC team to even push on their projected win total of the season. Their price has held steady since the loss, and if they somehow knock off a team like Texas A&M or Alabama they can put themselves into contention.
