Can Eddie Lacy recapture the magic that Marshawn Lynch brought to Seattle a few years ago as a bruising running back? Maybe Eat mode is the same as Beast Mode? The Seahawks have signed Lacy to a 1-year, $5.5 million deal that comes with $3 million fully guaranteed. Adam Schefter reported the news.

Lacy joins Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise, and Alex Collins in the backfield. Seattle also had an interest in Adrian Peterson, Latavius Murray, and Jamaal Charles but probably won’t pursue those 3 further after this deal. Lacy only played 5 games this past season for the Packers after suffering a season-ending ankle injury. He finished the 2016 season with 360 yards rushing on 5.1 yards per attempt.

For the Packers, it appears Ty Montgomery will be the primary back for Green Bay in 2017. The Packers could also be in the running back market since they released James Starks prior to free agency.  Moving on from Lacy should come as no surprise as Green Bay loves collecting compensation picks for departed free agents.
