Scout Trey Wins Again, Patriots Cut Tyquan Thornton

Tyquan Thornton sucks and Trey wins again. The Patriots have given up on the former Baylor product, who has since signed with the Chiefs practice squad. A second round pick was flushed down the toilet out of pure stupidity. There is no other way to describe it and I don’t need hindsight bias to prove my point here either.

If you read my draft content, you knew this was coming. I gave the Patriots an F during the 2022 NFL Draft and the blown Thornton pick had a lot to do with it. I didn’t even bother to list him or rank him in my 2022 Combine notes because I viewed him as that big of a waste of time. The smart people knew back when Thornton was at Baylor that he was fast but not a real football player.

By the way, we’re talking about a guy who never even had flashy stats in college. Never had 1,000 yard season in a Big 12 conference that doesn’t play defense. He caught a couple deep balls in an air raid offense and people lost their minds. It was a joke then and remains a joke now.

This is the only question that matters now. Will Bill Belichick be smart enough to call me when he gets another job? The guy doesn’t have a clue how to draft wide receivers and you can’t hide that evidence. N’Keal Harry over Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf, AND AJ Brown? That happened too among 800 other mistakes. Belichick needs me more than I need him. That’s just a fact.
