The Los Angeles Chargers are renovating the offensive line. Offensive tackle Russell Okung will sign a 4-year deal worth $53 million with the Bolts in free agency. The news comes via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
For the #Chargers and OT Russell Okung, it’s a 4 year deal worth $53M, source said. $13.25M guaranteed.

The Broncos declined Okung’s option earlier this offseason making him a free agent. The Broncos hoped to have brought him back at a reduced rate but the Chargers stormed in with a mega deal to steal him from Denver. That notion looks rather silly now because he only had $20 million remaining on his previous deal. Okung, 29, didn’t have the best season in 2016 as Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 38th best tackle in 2016.
Okung becomes an instant upgrade at left tackle as King Dunlap was one of the worst at the position in 2016. Other teams that were linked to his services include Vikings, Jets, Giants, Rams, and Seahawks.
