Richard Sherman Arrested in Burglary Domestic Violence Incident
Former Seattle Seahawk legend and current NFL Free Agent, Richard Sherman was arrested and booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle on a count of burglary domestic violence early this morning. For those like myself who did not know what a burglary domestic violence charge entails, here is the defintion.
“In a domestic violence burglary situation, the offender is usually accused of entering or refusing to leave a house, business, vehicle, or other dwellings. In first-degree offenses, they are also accused of committing an act of violence or carrying a deadly weapon.”
Sherman’s bail was denied and the incident is being investigated as a felony per Joe Fann.
Sherman serves as the VP for the executive committee of the NFL Players Association. After the news broke the NFLPA released this statement via Twitter in response to the arrest.
“We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved. We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us.”

Sherman just finished his third year with the San Francisco 49ers after spending seven years with the Seattle Seahawks. The 33 year old cornerback is currently a free agent and was looking to sign another contract this offseason. I am not sure how many offers Sherman had or how many teams were interested in the veteran but after this incident, his days as an NFL player may be done. This is not looking good for Richard Sherman.
