Earlier this year, it was announced that Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 would be making their way to PlayStation 5 in enhanced versions. It has been announced by Sony and Capcom that as of today horror fans will be able to play the enhanced versions on PS5.
Upgrades include ray-tracing, 3D Audio and DualSense controller support for a better and more immersive horror experience.
The titles on offer are the latest of Capcom’s work on the iconic horror franchise, aside from Village which has been released on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles from day one. This reissuing of the titles should give a new lease of life to the franchise as those who may have missed out on the horror experience on PlayStation 4 may be able to enjoy the titles at last via PS5.
Capcom may also bring Resident Evil to Apple Mac
It was reported earlier that Capcom may be bringing their iconic horror franchise to Apple Mac, a surprising revelation as the platform has never really maintained a reputation for gaming.
The title in question was Resident Evil: Village, their latest chronological addition to the series and one that dominated headlines as one of the better gaming experiences in 2021. Village continued what number seven in the franchise had done to save the IP’s floundering reputation following RE6.
It expanded upon the first-person horror experience that it’s precursor had established, a stark contrast to the Michael Bay style of action fans had witnessed unfold between RE4 and 6. Village did however include additional action, and a larger locale for the protagonist to scale. Compared to it’s predecessor the VR compatibility was stripped from the game, although that has confirmed to be making a return to PS5 with PSVR2.
