Phillies Outfielder Bryce Harper Reacts Hilariously To A Heckler
Highly overpaid Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper must hate playing for the lackluster Philadelphia team. The team sits in high competition in the National League East with the Mets, Braves, and Nationals who’re all poised for playoff contention. In the last two years the Phillies have been busy buyers acquiring both Harper, all-star catcher JT Realmuto, and others, but to no avail. They still haven’t made the playoffs in almost ten years. Meanwhile, having the fans back have made baseball so much more fun and interesting and this was brought out during the Phillies game yesterday against the Atlanta Braves.
The Phillies were visitors to Truist Park, and Braves superstar slugger Ronald Acuña Jr. already hit a home run that traveled well over 450 feet to dead center. Of course, the hecklers were rampant, and one, in particular, sat right behind the Phillies dugout. As seen in the video uploaded by the heckler, Harper is sitting next to JT Realmuto with his arms folded on the dugout railing. The heckler starts yelling to Harper how it feels to have Acuña be better than him. During the heckling, he pronounces Acuña’s name incorrectly without the “ñ”. Bryce reacts by turning around and telling him that it’s pronounced “Acuña” not “Acuna”. At the same time, Realmuto is cracking up.
The uploader who calls himself @LeGates23 has received both backlash and praise for the video on Twitter. He loves the attention and has responded to the backlash hilariously.
“Lol y’all mad at me for pronouncing a name wrong, but yet a professional player focused on a trolling fan instead of the game he was losing….. YALL FOLKS FUNNY & THANKS FOR BLOWING THE VIDEO UP!!!” – @LeGates23
Bryce Harper may have a long season in store with his team. Let’s see if more hecklers come out of the woods and latch onto Harper further based on this response.
