Paul George is returning to the Oklahoma City Thunder. His contract is reported to be 4 years at $137 million.

This was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gorge had been rumored to be headed to LA and the Lakers. He made it known during the 2016-2017 season, while still with the Indiana Pacers, that he intended to sign in LA once his current contract expired. This prompted the Pacers to trade him during last years offseason to the Thunder for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. It was viewed as a short-term move for OKC and GM Sam Presti as most felt there was no way George would re-sign there. After an early playoff exit this season, it was again seen as a foregone conclusion that George would sign elsewhere. However, the relationship between George and Russell Westbrook proved to be an under the radar factor in him staying put. George should still have the chance at a large free agent payday once this contract runs its course.

(Free Agent contracts can officially be signed 12 pm EST on July 6th)
