NXT Stars Request Release From WWE Following The Sale Of The Company-Reports
WWE has shaken up the professional wrestling world after announcing they have been sold to Endeavor. They will be forming a new company that will merge the WWE and UFC. The deal will likely take a few months to go through. However, there has been a lot of speculation about what will happen in WWE. While there hasn’t been much confirmed, one concern was what was going to happen to many of the wrestlers in WWE.
NXT Stars Request Release
WWE has gone through yearly waves of releasing numerous talents over the past couple of years. That was one of the concerns after the announcement of WWE getting sold. The other concern was if wrestlers were going to request their release following the sale. NXT stars Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid, F.K.A Grizzled Young Vets, have reportedly requested their release from the company, per Fightful Select.
WWE and Grizzled Young Vets have yet to comment on the request. However, just because they requested their release doesn’t mean they will actually get released. There have been countless superstars who have done this and never gotten released. Furthermore, it hasn’t been confirmed if they requested their release because of the sale of the company. This may be the start of an avalanche of wrestlers requesting their release following the sale of the company.
Grizzled Young Vets are former NXT UK Tag Team Champions and have held tag team gold in various companies. They were one of the staples of NXT UK and made the transition to NXT where they joined Schism. They are a top-tier tag team with a bright future, so whatever happens, hopefully, they will find success.
