It’s bizarre to me that one of the best centers in the NBA goes completely unnoticed by most NBA fans. I won’t lie, Nikola Vucevic didn’t show up on my radar until last year. Despite that, Vucevic has been putting out consistent production since the 2015 season. That’s 4 going on 5 seasons without being noticed rightfully. But he can’t be that good if he’s gotten unnoticed for this long right?
Nikola Vucevic Stats
Actually he can. Since 2015, he has averaged 17.8 PPG on 49% shooting, He has also averaged 10.4 RPG since then and at least 3 APG the last 3 years. You wouldn’t have known if I didn’t tell you that he is a walking double-double. He produces on the floor night in and night out. Of course, he does play for the Orlando Magic. They seem to be relevant for only a couple of years every decade.
This may be the first time some of you have ever heard of Vucevic but it shouldn’t be the last time. He is one of the focal points of the Orlando Magic’s success and should be known as much to all NBA fans. Although the Magic haven’t had much success in his career, it is not because of him. The supporting cast around him hasn’t been nearly as good to have any legitimate success.
Nikola Vucevic is now 29 years old and is in the middle of his prime. He is under contract with the Magic until the 2023 season. The Magic hopefully are looking to add some pieces around Vucevic like Demar DeRozan. This will help them in a playoff push as they currently sit around the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Magic know what they are getting with Vucevic, the question is if they can add more talent around him.
