Nick Wright Is A National Embarrassment With His MVP Stance

How Nick Wright still has a job on national networks is beyond me. He has said his fair share of absurd things on the air waves, but this one is up there among the worst. Can you believe that he has Chris Paul over Nikola Jokic for MVP? His argument is that “no one has added more value to their team than Chris Paul”. I’m sorry, but that is simply wrong. Let’s talk about it.

For starters, I want to clarify that I do believe Chris Paul is among the best guards in the league. He has been playing at a high level for years now and this is among his best he’s had. But the numbers don’t support it. Example? Last year, Phoenix was plus-7.6 points per 100 possessions with Booker, Ayton, and Ricky Rubio. With Chris Paul, they are plus-7.5. The Suns net rating is only one point higher when Paul plays. He is having an all NBA caliber run this season, maybe you can have that argument.

I would also like to mention that the boss man Trey has gone on record here as saying that he believes Chris Paul should get the MVP nod too. Unfortunately for you both, you are wrong.

But one thing you cannot argue is that Nikola Jokic not only is the MVP this season, but it should be unanimous. He is currently averaging 26/11/8 on a team absolutely ravaged by injuries and health protocols. Not only is he keeping Denver afloat, but they are only 4 games back in the loss column. Jokic is leading his team in literally every major statistical category you can find basically. How is he not MVP? Wanna know what else Nick Wright said?

This moron claims that no one cares about Denver and Nikola Jokic, even though if you ask the majority of NBA fans on social media their answer for MVP is The Joker. Your show isn’t even that great, so I understand the desire to keep up ratings. But to put claim that fans don’t care about one of the best teams in the league and the best center in the league is asinine.

I know I speak for thousands and thousands of people all over in wishing Nick Wright wasn’t on our TVs anymore. He’s an embarrassment not only to himself but to us in the media altogether. Fox can do better than Wright. It’s not hard.
