Nick Chubb Signs Three-Year Extension With Browns
Back in June, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb said the following on the possibility of signing an extension with Cleveland:
It would mean a lot. Cleveland drafted me however many years ago it was, trusted me and put their faith in me to help come build this culture, build this team and I’ve been a part of it. And I feel like yeah, Cleveland’s where I want to be. So I hope everything can work out in that direction.

Just over a month after those comments, Chubb and the Browns have agreed on an extension. Details were first reported by Mike Jones of USA TODAY and later confirmed by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. The new contract is worth $36M over three years, with $20M guaranteed.
Browns fans should be excited to see their star back locked up for the foreseeable future. Chubb is one of the best pure rushers in the NFL and has proven himself to be an elite talent. The 2018 second-round pick out of Georgia is one of the most elusive running backs in the league and finished second among qualifiers in yards per carry last season. He is a major piece of a Browns offensive core that finished the 2020 season with an 11-5 record and won a playoff game over the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Browns fans will continue to see their elite back take handoffs for the next couple seasons.
