New York Jets ask Packers if Aaron Rodgers is available for trade

The New York Jets have been on quite the rollercoaster of emotions with Aaron Rodgers this offseason, and things are looking up right now. The Jets have asked the Packers if the veteran quarterback is available for trade, according to Jeremy Fowler.

The Jets have been in the hunt for Rodgers this entire offseason, and it seems like their goal is to land the three-time MVP. New York hired Nathaniel Hackett, the former Packers offensive coordinator alongside Rodgers. During his time with the Packers and Rodgers, Hackett helped Rodgers win back-to-back MVPs.

But no one has persuaded Rodgers yet. In a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers said he would go into a four-day and night darkness retreat in which he will contemplate his future. With that being said, we could be getting more speculation about Rodger’s situation.

New York struggled a lot with quarterback play last year. Former second overall pick Zach Wilson was the focus of a lot of criticism in the Jets’ quarterback play. In nine games, Wilson threw for only six touchdowns. He added on seven interceptions as well. Hence, the reason why New York needs Rodgers.

The Jets finished the season with a 7-10 record as well as losing their last seven out of eight games. In that eight-game span, the Jets only scored over 20 points two times. Out of their entire season, they scored more than 20 points in only six games. The Jets also had four quarterbacks play this season: Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flacco and Chris Streveler.
