NCAA Wrestling Championship Prediction: 174 LBS

It’s that time of the year again people! MARCH MATNESS! That’s right I said MATness, not madness. The college wrestling postseason is right around the corner and it has been one hell of a season so far. I will be doing a count down the next two weeks of my picks of which wrestler is going to take the crown at each of the 10 weight classes in Minneapolis, Minnesota March 19th – March 21st. I’m so excited people you have no idea. In this article we will take a look at who I think will be standing at the top of the podium for the 174 LB division.

Chach’s Pick: Mark Hall – SR. Penn State

Coming out of high school Mark Hall won not one, not two not three, not four, but SIX STATE CHAMP at Apple Valley High School in Minnesota. Not to mention his illustrious international which includes a World Title. The kid is a born winner and as a senior at Penn State he enters the national tournament as an NCAA champion as a freshman and 2x national runner-up. Hall is an absolute monster with his lone loss of the season coming to Iowa Hawkeye and 2x All-American Mike Kemmerer. Hall avenged this loss this past weekend however in the Big 10 finals with an absolute dominate performance. If it wasn’t for that single blemish on his record no doubt the kid would be in the conversation for the Hodge!

In my opinion, this pick is a no brainer. Hall is on a mission and has continually shown time and time again that he shows up on the biggest stages in the world. Even last year against Zahid Valencia many feel like do to the recent failed drug test Hall was cheated out of a finals win that was an extremely close bout. Markey Mark is going to put on an absolute show March 21st and I feel like he will continue to distance himself from the pack and end his incredible stories career as a 4x NCAA finalist and 2x champion. BREAK OUT YOUR RECORDS AND GET READY TO PLAY HOT CROSS BUNS! WE ARE! Don Chach out!
