NBA Playoff Preview 2021: #2 Brooklyn Nets vs #7 Boston Celtics
Jayson Tatum is now only 1 game behind Larry Bird with the most 50 point games as a Celtic, and that will most likely be the last cheerful moment for this Celtics squad this season. The time has come where it is do or die for Brooklyn, if they don’t win a ring, it will be one of the biggest disappointments in recent NBA history. Brooklyn will have a much easier time taking care of Boston than selling tickets for home games, as Harden was forced to do a promo to pay for half of your ticket for a limited time. The only way Barclays sells out will be due to the Nets playing the Knicks or if KD and Kyrie hop on the 50% discount promo with Harden.
Why The Boston Celtics Have A Chance
I compare this series to Bulls vs Celtics in Jordan’s first few years making the playoffs, but in this case, Tatum is Jordan and the Nets are the Celtics. Jordan averaged 39.7 points per game to Larry Bird’s 27.2 points, but the Bulls were never able to beat them in the Playoffs. Jayson will get his stats and do his thing, but the Nets are too powerful and too experienced. Tatum will need an all-time great playoff performance along with Kemba and co to play the best basketball of their lives, and they need the Nets to fall apart.

Why the Nets Will Win
KD, Kyrie, and James Harden are all healthy as of right now, and this is what the Nets team has been building up to all season. They simply have too much skill, depth, and Playoff experience for this Celtics team who’s missing Jaylen Brown. Mike James has really impressed me with his ability to score and facilitate while the Big 3 is on the bench. He’s a very intelligent pick and roll guard who can create and hit shots all over the floor. Also, this whole team is lethal with the 3 point shot other than DeAndre Jordan, Nicholas Claxton, and Bruce Brown who are simply just asked to rebound and play defense. This Nets team will be locked in and I don’t see them struggling in this series. KD and Kyrie will make sure there’s no joking around come game 1, as well as James Harden is eager to finally put on a good performance in the Playoffs.
Prediction
Nets in 4, they’re not going to play around. Kyrie will drop 50 in Game 3 or Game 4 in TD Garden just because he wants to. Brooklyn is on the way to the finals and no one will stop them.
