NBA Wants To Use NBA 2K Crowd Noise
When the NBA returns in late July, there is a possibility that the NBA will use the crowd noise from NBA 2K to fill the void. This may be one of the stupidest ideas I have heard in a long time. This sounds like a made up headline, but I swear it is true.
I would honestly rather there be no crowd noise compared to this. The crowd noises from 2K have always sucked. It could be a close game in the final two minutes and I’d hit a big shot and the crowd just does a generic cheer rather than going ape over their home team getting a win. Alternatively, the crowd gets really quiet if you’re beating a team by more than 15. The game itself has become more of a joke each year and I want it as far away from the real NBA as possible. The development of 2K is lazy and little to nothing is changed from year to year, but that is another rant for another time.
Even some of the NBA players think the idea is stupid. Los Angeles Clippers big Montrezl Harrell chimmed in on Twitter also displaying a lack of belief that this is a legitimate option being tossed around.
Here is an alternative idea. Just allow one supper fan for each team to enter. They sit at the opposite sides of the arena and can scream until their throat bleeds. It can become this meta competition to see which fan really loves their team more. Mic them up and listen to the trash talk, it could make for some entertaining tv. I would be willing to listen to any other idea, just not fake crowd noises. It’s worked well for the UFC so far. Even with the current stupid idea, let’s all just be thankful that the NBA is returning.
