Mindy Kaling Is A Fantastic Writer
I just finished the second season of Sex Lives of College Girls and I’m itching for more. What a show. I know HBO has some banger shows but this one belongs in the cream of the crop. What a season it was. If you’re looking for a new show to binge, I recommend this one. The show writer, Mindy Kaling, deserves so much love for this show.
In terms of season three, we already got good news on that too. We’re getting a third season. Soooo don’t feel guilty about getting invested. More is on the way.
I also have a review on the first season if you want to check that out too.
Okay, now let’s actually get down to business. Mindy Kaling did a hell of a job with this show. Even the side characters are awesome. As someone who went to a bratty private school to start their college years, Kaling did a great job capturing that experience. Bella, Whitney, Leighton, and Kimberly are all unique but somehow fit to create the perfect set of roommates.
Mindy Kaling isn’t just the girl from The Office. She’s a hell of a writer too. Thank you for this show because it’s a good one.
To close out this blog, I’m going to lay out some thoughts from season two. If you don’t want spoilers, exit the blog and come back later when you have completed the show so we can have this chat.
- Bella screwed up but I actually feel bad for her. In reality, this is her parents’ fault. If they weren’t as uptight, Bella would have gotten her screw ups out of the way in high school. Some of it’s on Bella too but her parents put her down the wrong path and it really tug at my heart strings.
- Leighton is so cool. I just want to be her friend. The growth is incredible. She’s kept all those prick qualities but now it’s in a good way. Bravo to her.
- I don’t know how Kimberley is pulling all these men but she’s on quite the hot streak. I’m not saying it’s unrealistic but college has been good for her. That’s all I’ll say.
- I still don’t know what to make of Whitney. Was the science nerd guy that terrible? She has a right to be mad at Kimberly, but she’s the one that messed up the Canaan situation.
