Mike Trout Is Apparently a Horrible Fantasy Football Commissioner
Mike Trout might be on pace to be baseball’s GOAT by the end of his career, but word on the street is that he’s a terrible fantasy football commissioner.
Joc Pederson of the San Francisco Giants and Tommy Pham of the Cincinnati Reds had a physical altercation that went viral over the weekend. Pham was recorded slapping Pederson in the face during pregame warmups. The reason? Pham was harboring some resentment over a perceived wrong in their fantasy football league. Pederson explained it all in a postgame interview, and it really does sound like satire.
According to Joc, it didn’t seem to him like Tommy Pham had any real reason to be upset based on the status of his own roster. Pederson then explained that Pham took further issue with some of the messages the Giants outfielder was sending in the group chat. A GIF mocking the Padres was apparently too much for Pham, a former Padre, to handle.
When asked about the spat, Pham indicated that some blame may fall on the shoulders of Mike Trout.
Trout did a terrible job, man. Trout is the worst commissioner in fantasy sports because he allowed a lot of [stuff] to go on, and he could’ve solved it all. I don’t want to be the commissioner; I’ve got other [stuff] to do. [Trout] didn’t want to do it. We put it on him, so it’s kind of our fault too because we made him commissioner.

You can’t be the best at everything, I suppose. Perhaps if Mike Trout was a better commissioner, none of this would have happened.
