Michael Terry III, No. 1 ATH, Commits To Texas Longhorns On Signing Day 2025

The Texas Longhorns started off their signing day with a bang with the 5-Star No.1 ATH in the 2025 class, Michael Terry III committing to Texas. Michael Terry III is from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas. This was reported by 247Sports via Twitter/X:

Terry credits the commitment being close to home and the atmosphere of the school itself and the culture of the team as reasons he committed there. His full quote is provided by BurntOrangeNation.com:

“Just from the start, being so close to home and every time I go up there, it feels like home,” Terry told OnTexasFootball of his decision to commit. “So, it was a good atmosphere — every time I went there players, they didn’t say anything bad about it and they have a lot of good players going in there.”

The now-Texas commit had also considered Oregon and Nebraska but ultimately went with the Texas Longhorns. Michael Terry III also joins 14 other in-state recruits to commit to Texas. Texas has had 24 commits total with Terry now on the list. At this point in time, Texas has the highest recruiting rank in the nation at number 1. Adding Terry who is the No.1 ATH, No.8 in the whole state, and No. 24 nationally, helps solidify that ranking for Texas who are ramping up to be a powerhouse in CFB, especially with Arch Manning looking primed to lead the team.

With most of their recruits on their team being defensive players, one has to wonder what position on offense Michael Terry III will find himself playing. Could he play both running back and wide receiver? His frame at 6’3 and 217 pounds might lead him to be a WR, but he could see some RB snaps to make this Texas offense more versatile and dangerous. Time will tell.
