The Mets Hiring Process Sounds So Wack

The Mets Hiring Process Sounds So Wack

The Mets didn’t have a general manager for the longest time this past offseason. Multiple people turned them down but eventually, they settled on Billy Eppler after a long search. Eppler was a failed gm with the Angels but at least he was in the boys club so that was good enough for the Mets. Luckily for us, today we got a little bit of an inside scoop as to what the hiring process looked like.

Former MLB pitcher Heath Bell recently spoke with Blackjack Fletcher and Jonathan Papelbon. Bell tried to just simply get an interview while the Mets were stranded without a general manager. They are more dysfunctional than you think.

This is so insane you can’t make it up. Twitter followers should have no bearing on someone’s ability to run a baseball team. Anybody who thinks that needs serious help and needs to be locked away.

Maybe having smart people in the room is a nice thing to have but you don’t need every person in your front office that went to Harvard. You need a mix of everything. Real baseball people, smart nerds, former players, accountants, etc. The person who has strong leadership skills that can process all of the information correctly is what you need. Not a stupid degree that doesn’t mean anything other than a never ending pile of debt.

It’s nice to have some experience in the game but having written articles is also not a necessary requirement. Again, has no real baring on if someone can run a team unless their work provides proof they can. This is the only one that isn’t totally crazy but still nuts.

The Mets are the Mets for these types of reasons. It’s so insane they go about hiring people like this. I’m angry just writing this post. Could the Mets have worse karma in the air? Best news of all, asshole Steve Cohen let Sandy Alderson decide? That clueless dope? Never stop being the Mets. The great idiots of baseball. Even when they win they look stupid doing it. So embarrassing.

If the Mets don’t make at minimum a deep run this postseason, Billy Eppler is going to have some explaining to do. Hey, at least they hired the right guy for the job! JOKE.
