Guess Who One Of Mark Wahlberg’s Favorite Players Is?
Mark Wahlberg has got some pals. Some of them play baseball. Some of them win the World Series. Despite being a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, the Worcester native has a curveball up his sleeve. Everyone knows a “Yankee killer” when they see one. Regular season of playoff, they quickly become the most hated man in the Bronx. However, Wahlberg’s No. 1 pick plays for the Houston Astros — none other than Alex Bregman.
“I’ve been a big fan of his for a while, and we just became close friends,” Wahlberg said. “I was rooting for him all the way through. Of course, while my Red Sox were out. I was right on the Astros bandwagon.
“Of course when they swept the Yankees, he became my favorite Yankee killer.”

Obviously there is a bit of a personal touch here. You can’t fault him for being totally honest. I’m just wondering how the Red Sox fans feel about this. Of course, it’s great to hate on the Yankees. But with the best team in the game? A team that has also eliminated the Sox from the postseason in recent years. Sometimes you gotta take the wins with the losses. Either way, Wahlberg has a point. Bregman has been a stud in the playoffs when facing the Bronx Bombers.
Let’s also forget about the cheating scandal for a second. Wahlberg is just a fan of winning baseball. You won’t be the first to call him a bandwagoner because that’s exactly how he describes it. He also is pushing for Jose Altuve to return, even saying on the same show that he would donate either of his thumbs in order for the former AL MVP to heal up.
