Major Marvel, Disney projects expected to get Super Bowl spotlight
The Super Bowl is arguably the most important sports event in America. It is the culmination of an entire NFL season on one of the biggest stages. It is also a platform for the Super Bowl halftime show as well as the marquee time for a lot of the best commercials. This a truly special event where America comes together to be entertained by commercials, music, and, of course, football. It appears Super Bowl LVII will be the golden opportunity to see previews of the huge upcoming Marvel and Disney movies.
These are the list of the possible movies that will be teased during the Super Bowl. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the third Ant-Man movie. Ant-Man played by Paul Rudd and Wasp played by Evangeline Lilly are destined for a marvelous adventure. The highly anticipated Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror played by Jonathan Majors will be making its Marvel Cinematic debut.
The other Marvel movie is Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The Guardians series has delivered two fun and phenomenal music-filled films up to this point. James Gunn returns to the director’s chair and Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña will reprise their roles as Peter Quill and Gamora.
Disney is expected to tease their latest Disney princess film with the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid. Ariel will be played by Halle Bailey in a remake of the original animated movie that came out in 1989. The final movie is Pixar’s Elemental which will be the next entry in their incredible catalog.
Hopefully, these expected teasers bring viewers excitement on Super Bowl Sunday.
The past couple of Marvel and Disney movie entries
The last Disney animated movie was Strange World which was released in November 2022. This film was essentially a flop at the box office although it received decent reviews. The last live-action remake from Disney was Pinocchio (2022) which starred Tom Hanks. This film got pretty bad reviews so it will be interesting to see if Disney can get back on the right foot with their early 2023 releases.
The last two Marvel movie entries were Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. These sequels both received good but not great reviews with Wakanda Forever bringing in more at the box office. Unfortunately, neither of these films delivered on the lofty expectations that their classic previous films gave fans. The Super Bowl will have everyone’s attention, but film fans will be extremely attentive when these teasers air.
