What the hell are the Sacramento Kings doing? That’s what everyone was saying after they fired Dave Joerger after a 39 win season. That’s a big improvement for the Kings who have virtually zero success as a franchise. The Kings improved by leaps and bounds. Don’t forget, this team had the 2nd overall pick in 2018. While critiquing the Kings is fair, it appears that they may have a plan all along.
Sean Cunningham of ABC10 in Sacramento has reported that Luke Walton has landed the Kings head coaching job:
Vlade Divac is apparently very fond of Luke Walton. I honestly do not know if Walton is a good head coach. He must be at least okay because he found a job right after he parted ways from the Lakers. Walton actually probably got a better job here. DeAaron Fox is a great young point guard. Buddy Hield is an elite shooter. Marvin Bagley is a promising young star. What’s not to like here?
The hire is still odd to wrap my head around. Maybe there was a power struggle inside the Kings building and Divac wanted more control. Who knows? What I do know is Walton was a walking dead man. He was getting booted regardless
The Kings are about to hire their 7th head coach since 2000. That’s an absurd number. Sacramento also does not hold their
